The Dragon and Unferth

Unferth's Ultimate Nemesis by RetroOutro   Hello everyone, I am back to update you weird beings on my most recent affairs. Most recently, I have personally met the most horrific creature in all the worlds, it was the dragon. He gave me the ability to be extremely stealthy. I am basically unseen and unheard whenever I am sneaking around the mead hall. At first it was amazing, the ugly human beings had even less of a chance against me. But now the killing is just simply too boring, there is no longer any fun within my late night attacks. So, I decided to play with one man named Unferth. Ha, just thinking of this pathetic man brings a wicked smile to my face. He challenged to a battle of the death, it was quite silly, the man had no chance. However, I decided that a little insult wouldn't hurt anyone so I told him "Let me tell them I was sent by a sideways walker"(83). Unferth was actually walking side to side feet away from, still think that he would kill me and become a hero, it was too good of a situation to pass up on. So, I had a little more fun and threw some apples at him and didn't even let him get close enough to fight. The pathetic man even trip over one and brought injury upon himself. After all that was over, I decided to go home and leave the man with embarrassment and misery.
Then after three days of glorious sleep and relaxation, I was awoken to Unferth crawling on the floor attempting to get me to fight him. He told me "only you and I and God will know the truth . That is inner heroism"(88). Ahhh, so he had come to prove he is a true hero I thought. Well I was not going to let him achieve this ridiculous goal. He was already bleeding, bruised, and exhausted. The journey to my home is not an easy task for humans. I humored him for a few minutes and mocked him, told him the truth about heros and what they truly mean. However, after a while of just speaking he insisted for a battle of some sort to prove he was a hero still. I just wouldn't allow this to happen, so, I waited till the weak man fell asleep. After he was in deep slumber, I carried him back to the mead hall and left him outside. Even though I sparred his life, doesn't mean I have gone soft or grown a liking to humans. To make sure this was known I ate the guards standing outside the hall so no one would ever know. Bye everyone, I will update you on more later.

I really enjoyed how you brought Grendel to life in the first few sentences. I really heard his frustration with the Dragons predictions. I really like the attitude towards Unferth, the sort of mocking matter. Also, the way you presented Grendel's thoughts about heroism was interesting in a good way.
